Ilām and Sankhuwasabha are set to face each other in the final of the Koshi Province Chief Minister's Cup Football Tournament. Having won their respective semifinals on Thursday, Ilām and Sankhuwasabha have confirmed their meeting. Organized by the Koshi Pradesh Sports Development Board, in the first semifinal at Sagarmatha Janata Ma Bai Stadium in Okhaldunga Municipality, Ilām defeated Okhaldunga 1-0 to secure their place in the final. A 39th-minute goal by Ilām's Vishal Tamang proved decisive. He was named the man of the match and was awarded four thousand rupees and a medal by Board member secretary Hancharaj Wagle and Chief of Durgabaksa Gana Senani. In the second semifinal, Sankhuwasabha defeated Khotang 1-0 to advance to the final. Sankhuwasabha's Mandip Rai scored in the 25th minute to secure their final berth. Mandip was named the man of the match. He was awarded four thousand rupees and a medal by Board member secretary Hancharaj Wagle and Deputy Chief of Okhaldunga District Coordination Committee Tara Karki. The final will be held on Saturday. The tournament winner will receive a title and 200,000 rupees, while the runner-up team will receive 100,000 rupees. The best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, coach and highest scorer will receive 5,000 rupees and a trophy.
